---------------------- PLEASE DISTRIBUTE -------------------------------- Third Announcement "40 Years of Pulsars: Millisecond Pulsars, Magnetars, and More" August 12-17, 2007 McGill University, Montreal, Canada http://www.ns2007.org/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT DEADLINES Early registration deadline June 15th Accommodation deadlines June 30th - July 12th (depending on the hotel - see the conference website for details) REGISTRATION The deadline for early registration is this Friday, June 15th. Please register on the conference website at http://www.ns2007.org/index.php?page=2 The registration fee is $350 CAD before the early registration deadline of June 15th, $400 CAD after June 15th. A reduced registration fee of $250 CAD ($300 CAD after June 15th) applies for students. The registration fee includes a copy of the conference proceedings and one banquet ticket. Additional banquet tickets are available for $70 CAD each - please indicate how many you require when you register. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to apply for financial assistance. Unfortunately, we have only very limited funds available for financial support, which we expect to be mostly in the form of registration fee waivers. Decisions regarding financial assistance will be made approximately one week following the early registration deadline. PROGRAM The program of talks is now available on the conference website. The number of talk requests was more than a factor of 3 times larger than the number of talks available, and we were therefore not able to accommodate many of the requests for a contributed talk. If you submitted a contributed talk, but you are not listed in the conference program, we hope that you will present your results as a poster, and we have automatically added your abstract to the list of posters. All posters will be on display throughout the week, and there will be 3 dedicated poster sessions, as indicated in the conference program. Abstracts for talks and posters will be made available on the website shortly. The conference progam includes the following special events: Opening reception: 6pm Sunday evening, August 12th Opening talk: A. Hewish Conference summary: J. Taylor Public lecture from Jocelyn Bell Burnell: Tuesday evening August 14th Free afternoon: Wednesday, August 15th Conference banquet: Thursday evening, August 16th ACCOMMODATION We have reserved blocks of rooms in four hotels in downtown Montreal, each of which is about 5-10 minutes walk from the McGill University campus. Further details can be found on the conference website http://www.ns2007.org/. Please make sure to quote the reservation code given on the website when making your reservation. The reservation deadline for each hotel is given on the conference website (the deadlines range from June 30th to July 12th).
